Lewis Straus Construction Ltd. was established in 1985. We began in Kitchener, Ontario as an excavation contractor, specializing in swimming pool excavations, commercial excavating, and snow removal, and have expanded our services over the last 35 years into concrete forming and finishing, architectural walls, and more services to meet our customers’ needs.

As the region grew in population, space between new homes became tighter, and access to the back yards became more difficult. As an innovative company, we developed the use of conveyor technology to move the dirt from the pool excavation to the road. This idea evolved from the necessity of tight work areas, to a cleaner, safer way of moving large amounts of fill.

Our pool clientele and the homeowners started requesting the conveyors to minimize damage to their and neighbouring properties and allowed our business to expand across Ontario. Our concrete division has also grown from small commercial and residential projects in Waterloo Region to a variety of commercial civil projects, both small and large, across all of Ontario.
